It is with heavy hearts to inform you that Joe and I have decided to sell our home away from home, our Sterling Heights location. After years of perfecting his recipes at my father’s restaurant (Captains on Mac 1976), Joe and I opened Joe Bologna Pizza & Pasta in 1985 at 2135 17 Mile Road. After forty-four years in the business, thirty-four in Sterling Heights, we feel it’s time to sell and enjoy the fruits of retirement.
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to our million plus customers who made our journey possible. We’ve made lifelong friendships. Danny was just 1 year old when we opened the Carry Out Pizza & Pasta. We cherished the time we had with you. Some of our fondest memories are shared with you and our employees. Grazie Mille to our special regulars, who became part of the Bologna family.
Back in the day we should have hired a producer to develop a reality show! If we had Netflix in the 80’s there would be about 35 seasons and over 400 episodes! Episodes would be titled “Joe’s Way, Adele’s Way, Adele Way Win’s”, “Pan’s Go Flying”, “Ambrose At The Market”...Characters would include all the Bologna’s, Brengman’s, employees and you. How many seasons would you be in? We’ve shared laughs, tears, food and spirits. We hosted countless family parties, special occasions and celebrations featuring Joe’s famous Italian items.
Even though we are not operating the Sterling Heights location we are still able to offer catering services. Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com for catering options. Thank you for all the memories and the support you provided us since 1985. We have endless gratitude for our guests, the community and our staff. Let the family recipes, traditions, and celebrations continue at our son’s other locations. Danny operates two Bologna restaurants: Bologna Cucina in Rochester (334 S Main St Rochester MI 48307) and Via Bologna in Clarkston (7071 Dixie Highway Clarkston MI 48346). We look forward to serving you at these locations. Sure it’s not Sterling, but as Joe and I transition to our golden years we are still willing and able to help Danny just as Ambrose used to help Joe. Talk about full circle, we even drive a station wagon like Ambrose. I guess it's Joe's turn to go to pickup produce from the Eastern Market. God bless and a million thanks.
